About Us

Our Story

Coast and Country Crafts and Quilts was started as a mobile shop by Sally Snapes in 2004. Travelling around Cornwall, and occasionally into Devon and Somerset, Sally made regular visits to village halls and community centres, “setting up shop” for crafters and quilters to come and enjoy browsing at their leisure.

In spring 2008, an online shop was established, enabling customers to shop at any time. By December 2009, a permanent Country Store opened its doors at Perranarworthal, between Truro and Falmouth. Over the years the business expanded, holding beautiful stock and running regular workshops in a dedicated teaching space filled with fun and laughter.

Following a decision to semi-retire, Sally transitioned the business to an online-only model in June 2025, continuing to provide the same high standard of service and advice from afar.

A New Chapter: The Cornish Craft Barn

In May 2026, an exciting new chapter began! We are absolutely thrilled to announce that Rachel Semonin and the team at the Cornish Craft Barn have taken over the reins of Coast & Country Crafts.

We share Sally’s deep love and passion for gorgeous collections and the quilting community. While we wish Sally the absolute best as she heads off to enjoy a well-deserved, full retirement in her garden, we are incredibly honored to carry her wonderful legacy forward.

What’s Next?

Online Shop: Our online store remains completely unchanged, active, and fully stocked for all your crafting needs.

We are BACK in a Physical Shop! For those who love to browse and touch the fabrics in person, we have fantastic news. Our beautiful stock and fabrics are moving into a physical shop space once again, located at the Cornish Craft Barn—just 15 minutes away from the old Perranarworthal location. Our doors officially open on Monday, 25th May 2026.

Coast and Country Crafts continues to specialise in craft and quilt patterns from around the world, gorgeous fabrics, kits, books, notions, and all the accessories you need to complete your projects. We pride ourselves on a fast, efficient mail-order service and are always here to help.
